Ontario College of Family Physicians Leadership Academy

Empowering family physician leaders to drive change and innovation for primary care in Ontario.

The Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP), in partnership with the Rotman School of Management, is pleased to launch The OCFP Leadership Academy, an immersive leadership program designed to cultivate and enhance leadership skills among family physicians. In today's complex healthcare landscape, the need for effective physician leaders is more critical than ever. The OCFP Leadership Academy is designed to equip family physicians with the tools and knowledge to navigate the intricacies of healthcare systems, champion patient-centered care, and drive innovation in primary care practices.

Who should apply?

We encourage applications from:

  • Those who have demonstrated leadership potential and interests.
  • Those who are currently serving or aspiring to serve in system-level or regional leadership roles within the healthcare system (e.g., OHTs).
  • Those who identify as Indigenous persons, Black and racialized persons, persons with disability, women, and persons from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
  • Those who work in rural or remote communities.
  • Those who care for marginalized communities.

Module 2 - In-person


Program faculty

 

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate recognizing their leadership development and their commitment to advancing primary care. The program will also be accredited for MainPro+ credits.

Participant profile:
Ideal candidates are physicians who:

  • have demonstrated leadership potential and interests.
