Rotman Alumni Awards
Across Canada and all over the globe, Rotman alumni from all programs are making significant contributions to their industries, local communities and the world at large.
The Rotman Alumni Awards recognize three outstanding alumni, celebrating their contributions to Rotman and the U of T community, as well as their impact on business and society. Alumni from all Rotman programs are eligible, including graduates from our BCom, GDipPA, MMA, MFRM, MBA – FT/M-E, JD/MBA, MGA/MBA, MD/MBA, Pharma/MBA, Skoll MBA, MFIN, EMBA, GEMBA/ GEMBA-HLS and PhD programs.
These awards are presented each year at Reunite at Rotman—our annual fall homecoming celebration.
Award Categories
Leader to Watch
This award was established to recognize an early to mid-career alum who has had tremendous success in their professional work and demonstrated a commitment to giving back to their community. The honouree must have:
- Graduated from any Rotman degree program and is under 40 years of age.
- Achieved early success and sustained notable accomplishments in their professional work.
- Set an example for future alumni to follow by demonstrating the Rotman values of inclusivity, integrity and respect.
- Committed to giving back to their community – Rotman, U of T and/or community at large.
Volunteer Excellence Award
This award has been established to recognize the outstanding volunteer contribution of alumni to the Rotman School, U of T and its mission. The honouree must have:
- Five years post-graduation from any Rotman degree program.
- Contributed time and talent to propel the Rotman School towards its mission, consistently volunteering for five years or more.
- Positively influenced and supported the lives of the Rotman community – alumni, staff, faculty and students.
Lifetime Achievement Award
This award recognizes a seasoned graduate’s significant contributions to their organization, industry and community. The honouree must have:
- More than 20 years post-graduation from any Rotman degree program.
- Risen to senior positions and contributed significantly to their organizations as well as to their industry and can be recognized as an industry leader.
- Consistently given back to build stronger local and global communities.
- Stay engaged and involved in the University’s ecosystem by connecting with students, faculty, alumni and/or giving.
Guidelines for Completing the Rotman Alumni Nomination Submission
We recommend completing your answers in a word document first before pasting them in the form below so you can retain a record.
Select only one award category per nominee. Self-nominations can only be submitted one time for consideration.
Rotman Alumni Award nominations will be open from noon on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Once the nominations are closed, only completed nomination packages will move forward in the Rotman Alumni Awards selection process. Recipients are selected by a committee that includes Rotman alumni and the Dean. Recipients will be announced by the end of June 2024.
The strongest nominations include detailed responses that shed light on the nominee’s qualities beyond what is stated on a CV or functional equivalency such as LinkedIn.
Nominations require at least one letter of support (two letters maximum), written by someone other than the nominator.
