What a record-breaking homecoming we had this year at Reunite at Rotman! With more than 1,000 in attendance, seeing Rotman students, alumni, faculty and staff reunite was nothing short of inspiring.

We hope you had the chance to participate in all the fantastic activities we offered this year. It was a whirlwind of events, from the Rotman Alumni Awards ceremony to enlightening fireside chats, thought-provoking faculty lectures, heartwarming class reunions and so much more.

Sonya Gulati is a Partner in KPMG Canada’s Management Consulting practice. As a leader in KPMG’s Government & Public Sector practice, she combines her private sector experience with her insider government knowledge to harness private sector ideas and turn them into made-for-government solutions.

Sonya has worked in the public sector at both the federal and provincial levels, the financial services sector (banking, insurance) and a payment systems regulator. At the invitation and request of the Prime Minister Trudeau, she served as a Panel Member on the Expert Panel on Youth Employment.

Sonya holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, a Master of Arts degree in Economics from McMaster University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. She is also a Certified Management Consultant and holds Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Prosci certifications.

Agnes Chang is a Principal in the Insurance-Linked Securities Team of the Capital Markets Group at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. Before joining OTPP in 2017, she worked for 4 years at the Alternative Investments team in the State Administration of Foreign Exchange Investment Center. She held two master degrees including MFRM at Rotman, and Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago.

Neil Aubuchon

Neil Aubuchon, FT MBA '98
Chief Commercial Officer, AbCellera

Neil Aubuchon is the Chief Commercial Officer at AbCellera. He has over 23 years of commercial experience at multinational bio-pharmaceutical companies. He has held a wide array of positions both within markets and at the global level, including leading a 1,000+ person organization.

Prior to joining AbCellera, Neil was the Global Marketing Lead for Amgen's General Medicine early portfolio, which included responsibility for developing the integrated strategy for Amgen's non-oncology therapeutic areas and leading commercial strategy for over 10 biologics, as well as several high profile corporate initiatives. Prior to Amgen, Neil was the Vice President of Global Marketing at Santen, a global ophthalmology-focused pharmaceutical company. Prior to Santen, Neil spent close to 17 years at Eli Lilly in various commercial roles of increasing responsibility. This included the Chief Marketing Officer in Australia, Chief Marketing Officer in Japan, Head of Strategy & Operations for Lilly Bio-Medicines Globally, and Vice President of Lilly Bio-Medicines in Japan.

As a leader in the Life and Health Insurance practice, with extensive experience and a deep understanding of the industry's dynamics, Atul is a thought leader and a catalyst for growth and change.

Drawing on his comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare landscape, digital health, pharmacy benefits management, and group benefits industry, Atul is dedicated to improving client and patient experiences through the implementation of innovative solutions within health insurance. He leverages his expertise to address pain points and unlock new opportunities for clients, driving value creation and sustainable growth.

Roman Dubczak

Roman Dubczak, BCOM '85
Deputy Chair, Capital Markets CIBC Capital Markets

Roman Dubczak is responsible for senior client relationships and strategy as well as strategic opportunities at CIBC Capital Markets. He is a member of the CIBC Capital Markets Executive Committee and is also a board member of CIBC World Markets Inc. Mr. Dubczak joined CIBC in 1992 and has worked in a variety of capital markets roles. He has previously led CIBC’s Global Investment Banking, Global Equities, Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Debt Origination franchises.

Roman holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, as well as CA, CPA, CFA and ICD.D designations.

Mr. Dubczak is Chair of the Board of Directors for CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services Company and for CIBC Mellon Trust Company. He is the immediate past Chair of the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation and has been a board member and volunteer at several community organizations. Roman is also a past Chair of the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) and is a member of the Dean’s Global Advisory Council at the Schulich School of Business

Stephana Hung

Vice President Clinical Operations, CareRX Corporation

Stephana is highly passionate about Seniors Care and recognizes the unique challenges in this population. She currently is the Vice President, Clinical Operations where she specializes in clinician workflow in a complex sector of pharmacy services to long-term care. As a leader, she looks to develop and adopt world class practices to better serve the aging population. She is very interested and continually looks to apply technology and innovation to optimize and enhance quality of care across all service areas. Her belief is that by improving the use of medications, people can thrive at every age and in any setting.

Working collaboratively and closely with home care operators, physicians, nurses and pharmacists, she has developed deep knowledge and expertise in long-term care. Due to this, she sits as the sole pharmacist on the Geriatric and Long-Term Care Review Committee at the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario.

Stephana is also a mentor for the University of Waterloo Toronto Alumni Chapter for women-identifying and visible minority alumni to provide coaching in career and life balancing. By sharing experiences and lessons learned, she hopes to help the next generation of visible minority women leaders breakdown and eliminate barriers in the workplace and society.

Maral Sadr

Maral Sadr, EMBA '19
Associate Vice President, Risk Management, CIBC

Maral Sadr is an accomplished, versatile, and decisive leader with 18+ years of Financial Services Industry experience and a proven track record of leading high performing teams in successful planning and execution of complex enterprise-wide innovative initiatives. She currently leads the Compliance and EAML Examination Program, in a dual reporting role to CIBC’s Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer and Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer.

Maral obtained her bachelor of science in mathematics from the University of Toronto. She has also completed the Executive MBA program at Rotman, and received her Masters of Business Law (LLM) from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Maral is mom to a 16-year old boy and a 14-year old girl, and is proud to share that she has successfully passed along the ‘love of reading’ to both her kids. Unfortunately, she has not been as successful, with passing along the love of running to them. Maral is energized and driven by opportunities to help others, expand her knowledge, and gain new experiences, and she lives every day guided by her core values of integrity, transparency, and respect.

Luigi Trentadue

Luigi has been a vital member of the Rotman Commerce alumni community for almost 20 years. In 2004, he co-founded the alumni steering committee where he served for nearly 10 years. As an Arbor Award Recipient, Luigi demonstrates keen interest in the well-being of Rotman Commerce students and graduates as an active participant in dozen of networking receptions, conferences, mentorship events and socials. Professionally, Luigi has built a sterling reputation in Banking as a risk and governance specialist, having worked around the world in senior accounting and consulting roles in the Big 4, as well as in COO capacities in boutique and bulge bracket investment banks. Currently, Luigi is a Director in Financial Markets at National Bank, operating out of Montreal and Toronto.

Deborah Chima

Strategy & Operations, TikTok

Deborah is a strategy professional that enjoys partnering with the world's largest organizations to help them drive business value. She is currently on the Strategy & Operations team at TikTok, where she is driving strategic initiatives to support the Canadian leadership team in expanding TikTok's monetization business in the Canadian market. Prior to joining TikTok, Deborah was a management consultant at Bain & Company.

Sabaa Quao

Chief Creative Officer, Cossette; Co-Founder at Wealthie Works Daily, Inc.

Sabaa is a forward-thinking leader and serial entrepreneur with a passion for creativity and business. He has spent the last 30 years in Canada and Europe building and growing several platforms and companies across the tech, content, and culture space.

With a wealth of diversified experiences, Sabaa brings a unique and forward-thinking creative perspective to Cossette as Chief Creative Officer, where he leads the agency’s creative output. As a co-founder of Wealthie Works Daily, Sabaa is building an investment and financial literacy platform that ensures a more secure financial future for kids and families.

Krati Chhajer

Executive Director, Global Markets, CIBC World Markets

Krati Chhajer is an executive director in CIBC Global Markets. She leads the credit structuring group for precious metal and other commodities clients. Prior to that role, she specialized in NBFI credit reviews with a focus in hedge funds in Corporate Banking at CIBC. She drives results for the bank on a risk adjusted basis.

Helen He

Helen He, BCOM '10
Director, Strategy, Scotiabank

Helen is a Director of Enterprise Strategy at Scotiabank, with a focus in Canadian Banking. She leads large-scale value creation projects and provides strategic support in setting the enterprise's priorities. Her scope of work includes strategic planning, capital and portfolio allocation, growth and go-to-market strategies and operations. Prior to this role, she was the Head of Strategy at the Home Depot Canada, and has worked as a Consultant for the Boston Consulting Group and KPMG.

Helen holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Rotman, an MBA from Ivey Business School, and a CA, CPA. She lives in Toronto with her husband and two kids.

Jim Osler

Jim Osler, FT MBA '93
Principal, Origin Merchant Partners

For over 25 years, Jim has been an advisor in both public and private markets, in domestic and cross-border transactions, and in industries as diverse as consumer products, utilities, and financial services. Jim was an initial partner in the formation of Genuity Capital Markets where he built and ran Canada’s leading independent M&A group. Following the acquisition of Genuity, Jim became Head of Canadian Mergers and Acquisitions at Canaccord Genuity until he left the firm in 2011. Previously, Jim was a Managing Director at CIBC World Markets, with 10 years of experience in the M&A and corporate finance groups.

Jim holds a B.A. (Honours) degree from Queen’s University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Jim earned both a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation while employed by Ernst & Young in Toronto.

Tom Du

Tom Du, BCOM '08
Associate Director, Climate Risk Integration, Royal Bank of Canada

Tom Du has over 15 years of consulting and finance experience in the for-profit, not-for-profit, and public sectors. He currently works at RBC to embed climate factors in operations as an Associate Director, Climate Risk Integration.

Previously, he worked overseas in Europe’s Sustainable Energy sector, and has given sustainability talks in Germany, Greece, and Canada. He specializes in sustainable finance and energy, with a particular interest in the design of alternative financing and business models to support the energy transition.

Tom has written for various publications, including a book, Corporate Knights magazine, and the Globe and Mail newspaper. Tom holds three degrees: a MBA from Schulich School of Business, a Master’s degree focused in sustainable energy systems, and a corporate finance degree from Rotman School of Management. He also has a post-graduate diploma in business & sustainability as well as responsible investing and other certifications from the RIA, PMI, ECO, and CSI.

Jennifer Schillaci

Global Head of Separate Accounts, Real Estate, Manulife

Based in Toronto, Jennifer is responsible for the overall strategy, growth, and ongoing management of the firm’s separate account business, which includes working alongside the investment and asset management teams in acquiring, managing, and disposing of real property. Her responsibilities also extend to working with the firm’ global sales teams as well as legal and tax professionals to structure the products.

Prior to beginning her current role in January 2021, Jennifer was chief investment officer of Manulife US Real Estate Management, a Singapore-based real estate investment trust (REIT) that invests in key U.S. real estate markets. She was responsible for executing the REIT’s investment program and providing direction to the U.S.-based real estate asset management, portfolio management, and acquisition teams. Among other prior roles at Manulife Investment Management, Jennifer was a senior portfolio manager, an investment director responsible for the  execution of acquisition targets as well as the disposition of non-core assets and the monitoring and analysis of the company’s real estate investment performance, and a leasing manager, responsible for negotiating and executing commercial office lease transactions. In addition, she held various investment positions within the firm across several asset classes such as high-yield bonds, private equity, and private debt. Jennifer holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Devika Parushothaman

Senior Analytics Engineer, The Score

Devika Purushothaman, a storyteller, is passionate about telling stories backed by data.

She is a Senior Analytics Engineer at theScore. Before joining theScore, she worked at Wattpad for over two years. In both her roles, she was tasked with the responsibility of developing solutions and building analytics infrastructure to deliver trusted data that is used to derive insights and aid in making organization-wide decisions.

She holds a master's degree in Management Analytics and a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Damani Thomas

CIBC Capital Markets, Director - Global Markets, Real Estate Interest Rate Derivatives

Damani Thomas is currently a Director within CIBC Capital Markets responsible for crafting interest rate hedging solutions for real estate clients. Prior to this, he served as a Director of Business Management providing strategic and project management support on key client initiatives. Damani previously worked with Scotiabank as a Manager in the Canadian Banking finance department handling competitive and strategic financial analysis. He holds a Masters in Economics from The University of the West Indies, a Master of Finance degree from the Rotman School of Management and is also a CFA Charter holder.

Michael Fan

Michael Fan, BCOM '14
Co-Founder/CEO, Risedesk

Michael is the CEO and cofounder of Risedesk, Toronto's leading ergonomic furniture startup. Risedesk is supporting the healthy transition of on-site work towards remote and hybrid through superior ergonomic furniture. He graduated from Rotman in 2014 and after school worked at Bell Canada as a senior manager in various areas such as strategy, data science, and project management.

Sinead Bovell

Sinead Bovell, MBA '15
Founder, WAYE

Sinead Bovell is a futurist and the founder of WAYE, an organization that prepares youth for a future with advanced technologies, with a focus on non-traditional and minority markets. Sinead is a regular tech commentator for CNN, talk shows, and morning shows; she's been dubbed the A.I. educator for the “non-nerds” by Vogue Magazine; and to date has educated over 200, 000 young entrepreneurs on the future of technology.

Sinead is a 8x United Nations speaker; she has given formal addresses to presidents, royalty and Fortune 500 leaders on topics ranging from cybersecurity to artificial intelligence, and currently serves as a strategic advisor to the United Nations International Telecommunication Union on digital inclusion.

Rekah Shah

Rekha Shah, M/E MBA '18
Vice President, TV Licensing, Paramount Pictures Group

Rekha Shah is an accomplished executive in the media industry serving as VP, Client Relations at Paramount Global.

With over 20 years of experience, Shah plays a vital role in managing content licensing for Paramount Global in the Canadian market across all rights windows in both French and English, with the product library comprising 70,000 hours of series content and 4000 feature films. Shah also manages the relationship between Global Content Distribution and all inter-company licensing including Paramount + and PLUTO in Canada.

Prior to her role at Paramount, Shah worked at Cambium Catalyst Entertainment as VP of Distribution and Coproduction for over four years, as well as Alliance Films, as Director of North American TV Sales.

Shah lives in Toronto with her husband, two teenage daughters, and dog. She serves as a Board Member for Ontario Creates and in her free time she loves playing tennis.

Leslie Madden

Leslie Madden, EMBA '16
Head of Regulatory Science & QA, Canada at Moderna

Leslie Madden joined Moderna as one of its first Canadian employees in early 2021. She is currently the Senior Director and Head of Regulatory Sciences & Quality Assurance (QA) for the Canadian business. In this role she is responsible for providing leadership and strategic oversight of the development and registration of Moderna’s mRNA-based medicines for the Canadian market including the COVID-19 vaccine program, respiratory vaccine portfolio and rare disease therapeutics.

She has more than 17 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector in both Canada and the US, with roles extending across the disciplines of marketing, sales, QA, pharmacovigilance, and business development. Prior to joining Moderna, she was the Director of Regulatory at Elvium Life Sciences, a Global Regulatory Lead at Biogen (US), and has held positions at Galderma and GSK in Canada.

Leslie holds a BSc from York University, an MBA from Rotman School of Management, and a Global Professional LLM from the Faculty of Law at University of Toronto. She currently serves as a member of the Rotman Healthcare & Life Sciences Advisory Board (HLAB).

Narinder Dhami

Narinder Dhami, FT MBA '08
President, the Sonor Foundation and Managing Partner, Marigold Partners

Narinder is an award-winning innovator, Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and a BMW Foundation Responsible Leader. Her work spans across sectors and silos, she brings depth and rigour to drive social impact in North America and the Global South. She is the President of the Sonor Foundation, Executive Lead and Co-Founder of New Power Lab and a gender lens investor. Over the last decade, she built, designed and scaled social ventures including: in partnership with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) she led a venture philanthropy fund, LEAP | Pecaut Centre for Social Impact, and alongside Sandra and Joseph Rotman at the University of Toronto, Narinder was the founding Executive Director of Rise, a microfund for entrepreneurs with mental health and addiction challenges. In the Global South, she worked in microfinance across Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali at La Première Agence de Microfinance (PAMF) and in impact investing in Ghana & Nigeria with Acumen. She is a lecturer at Ryerson University and the University of Toronto. Narinder serves on multiple boards including the Community Foundations of Canada, Venture for Canada, The Circle, and CAFIID and is an investor in social ventures across Canada.
