Joseph is a leading cultural sensitivity trainer, and the founder of Indigenous Corporate Training Inc.

On Trial: Can Big Tech be Trusted with AI?

Wednesday, September 27 | 5 to 6:30 p.m. EST

Artificial intelligence (AI) is no doubt part of an exciting technological revolution. But it also raises important questions about privacy, copyright, and ethics. With all this in mind, we want to explore the question Can Big Tech be trusted with AI? The format of this event will be a mock trial. Fiona Schaeffer (Milbank LLP) will act as prosecution, while Dany Assaf (Tory’s LLP) will serve as defense. David Skok (CEO and Editor-in-Chief at The Logic) will sit in the role of judge. As audience members, you will form part of the jury, and have the opportunity to give the final judgement.

We're taught to say yes often, in order to be agreeable, and perhaps so we do not miss out. Patrick will introduce a ground-breaking idea, called "empowered refusal" - a framework for saying no that puts you back in charge of your life.

Top strategy professor Jay Barney from the University of Utah will share how leaders can take dramatic action that embodies the cultural values they want to espouse. This event is moderated by Rotman Professor Anita McGahan.
