Bio

Beatrix Dart is a Professor of Strategy, Academic Director of Experiential & Global Learning and the Executive Director of the Initiative for Women in Business. Beatrix teaches courses in Management Consulting and Corporate Strategy, in particular the development of growth strategies for international companies. She joined Rotman in 2000 following a successful career with McKinsey & Company, and served as the Academic Director and Associate Dean for Executive Degree Programs until 2015. In addition, she is a corporate director for EllisDon, and chairs the steering committee for The 30% Club in Canada.

Research and Teaching Interests

Dr. Dart is the architect of Rotman's One-Year Executive MBA and the Omnium, Global Executive MBA. She served as the Associate Dean, Executive Degree Programs, and Academic Director of Rotman's Executive Degree programs until 2015. As part of her role, she was responsible for program design, admission, and faculty selection. Beatrix teaches Management Consulting and Corporate Strategy courses, in particular the development of growth strategies for international companies. She joined the Rotman School of Management in 2000 following a successful career with McKinsey & Company in London, Zurich and Toronto where she focused on serving international Fortune 500 companies in Europe and North America. As an accomplished consultant, her strategic advice is sought-after by many companies she counseled over the last years.

Beatrix is also the Executive Director for Rotman's Initiative for Women in Business, advancing women in management and chairing the Steering Committee of The 30% Club Canada, supporting initiatives to fill the pipeline of senior women in companies. She has been awarded Canada's Most Powerful Women Top 100 (2016), and Canada's Top 25 Influential Women Award (2013). She is frequently invited to present her insights to conferences, panels, and media.

Further accomplishments include current board member of EllisDon, one of Canada's largest construction companies, as well as numerous not-for-profit board positions over the last years. A Swiss-German native and graduate of Germany's University of Konstanz, Beatrix completed a Ph.D. in Economics concurrent with a second Master degree in Information Science. She received a Master in Economics from the University of Konstanz.
