Employers & Recruiters

The Master of Financial Risk Management (MFRM) program at the Rotman School of Management was created in response to the need for specialized talent in risk management and compliance that the finance industry demands. Over the intensive eight-month program, students will master the complex issues involved in risk management, allowing them to provide immediate specialized knowledge to employers, and to accelerate their own career trajectory.

Recruitment Timeframe

Fall On-Campus Recruitment (OCR) September-November

Industry partners may be onsite at the Rotman School of Management early in the academic year to participate in Fall OCR. The MFRM Career Services Office collaborates with other Rotman programs’ Career Services, and you may have the opportunity to meet with MFRM students at your scheduled Rotman events.

Recommended Timeframe: Winter Recruitment

To provide employers with the best reflection of students’ capabilities and grasp on risk management concepts, our recommendation is to focus recruitment activities (job postings, interviews and offers) starting in late January.

By the end of January, students, armed with knowledge gleaned from the first half of the curriculum, will be deeply immersed in an applied industry project. Thus, this timeframe coincides with the opportunity to meet students whose skills are honed.

To host an Information Session or coffee chat specifically targeting MFRM students, please contact Carolyn Wright, Assistant Director, Career Services, MFRM for further details.

How to Hire an MFRM Student

Rotman Career Portal

Register for an employer account through the our portal website , the internal job board for Masters-level Rotman students, to post, view, and edit jobs, and browse student resumes.

Through their employer account, users may view submitted applications and access resume books after the position has closed. There is no cost to registering, posting, or recruiting from any of our programs.

New Employers: Steps to Register on the Rotman Career Portal

  1. Register an employer account on the Rotman Career Portal
  2. Upon approval, you may log in to your account and post a job
  3. Job posting approval usually takes one business day

Returning employers may use the same log-in and repost any of the previous cycle’s submissions.

On-Campus Interviews

Employers may identify shortlisted candidates directly on the Rotman Portal or via email to MFRM Career Services and we will coordinate the interview schedules on the employer’s behalf. Employers are encouraged to come on campus to conduct interviews to minimize missed class time or academic conflicts.

We will require a minimum of 5 business days prior to the interview date to coordinate the interview schedule. This allows time for students to confirm interview slots and prepare for their interview.
