Three Rotman Executive MBA Students Among the “Best and Brightest” from Poets&Quants.

June 21 2018

Toronto – Three students who graduated this week from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management have been named to the list of the Best & Brightest Executive MBAs from the Class of 2018. It’s the fourth 4th annual feature from Poets&Quants that honors 100 Executive MBAs who “personify excellence” at the world’s top executive MBA programs.

Rupinder Dhillon, MBA’18, Don Trynor, MBA’18, and Sophia Wu, MBA’18, all graduates of the One-Year Executive MBA program, were named to the list which was published yesterday.

Dhilon is currently Director of Machine Learning and Data Science with Bell Canada and is also a member of the advisory board for the Rotman School’s Master of Management Analytics program. During her studies she also participated in the Creative Destruction Lab working with a social enterprise start-up.

“Rupinder eased the early trepidations of her classmates through her quiet, intelligent, and empathetic presence. Our students have expressed their respect for Rupinder, earned through being a constructive leader on projects, class discussions, team deliverables and individual work,” says Prof. Douglas Hyatt, Academic Director, Professional MBA Programs.

Trynor and Wu brought their project for the program’s Capstone course into the real-world launching a science and technology online secondary school, which helps students from around the world prepare for future success in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

“I think that what Don discovered in the EMBA program is that he thrives in disruption. And, he has inspired us all to try to be more like him,” says Prof. Hyatt.

“An entrepreneurial mindset, sharp business acumen, and a focus on social good make Sophia a powerhouse in the international business community and a great ambassador of the Rotman Executive MBA program,” says Kristen Ligers, Director, Program Services & Student Life, Professional MBA & Specialized Programs.

The Rotman School offers a One-Year Executive MBA, a Global Executive MBA which spans five continents in 18 months and a new Global Executive MBA for Healthcare and the Life Sciences.

The Rotman School of Management is part of the University of Toronto, a global centre of research and teaching excellence at the heart of Canada’s commercial capital.
